The Allen-Bradley 2706-M1F1 terminal is a 32-key MessageView series display terminal that was developed for use in industrial automation systems. It has a 1.06 x 4.27-inch Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) screen with a resolution of 128 x 32 pixels that is suitable for a variety of system-monitoring and system-controlling applications. The 2706-M1F1 terminal’s certifications and ratings include the UL List, CE Mark, NEMA Type 12, 13, and 4X, CSA Certification, and Class I, Division 2 ratings. This display terminal runs on 24 Volts DC of nominal supply voltage and with a supply voltage range of 18 to 30 Volts DC. It consumes 20 Watts of power during operation (833 mA at 24 Volts DC). Its 128 KB of Flash EPROM memory makes it suitable for use in logic controllers, machine control, and monitoring applications since it can store about 4096 messages. The text effects that the 2706-M1F1 terminal supports include scrolling, centering, flashing, and reversed text effects, and these effects allow the users to display important data in a variety of ways. The users can also choose from 8 different brightness settings, including a 12% minimum brightness setting and a 100% maximum brightness setting. This terminal accepts ASCII data and can communicate with other devices and systems in an industrial network thanks to its RS-232 and Remote I/O interfaces. Furthermore, the RS-232 interface on the main logic board makes it easy to install simple programs and update the terminal. The 2706-M1F1 terminal’s RS-232 interface can also be used for ASCII input device interaction and event history administration. The 2706-M1F1 display terminal can communicate with slave message display terminals.
