Allen-Bradley's 2711P-RP8D logic module is part of the PanelView Plus 6 series. It normally supports PanelView terminals with no further capabilities. It is powered by an input supply of 24 volts DC, and this module comes with 512 MB of data and application storage memory. It also contains 512 MB of volatile memory for processing applications. This module can be programmed via the RS-232 serial connection interface using a computer. Other devices can be connected to the 2711P-RP8D logic module through the same port. The Ethernet protocol is also used for expanded network functionality, and the 2711P-RP8D, like other PanelView Plus terminals, uses a regular Ethernet cable for application and data transfers between a computer and the PanelView Plus 6 (700 to 1500) terminal. The communication interfaces accessible on the 2711P-RP8D, namely, one (1) Ethernet communication port for integrating data from controllers inside the Ethernet network and one (1) 9-pin Sub-D serial port for point-to-point and peripheral connection via the integrated There are two (2) USB interfaces.
