PanelView logic modules by Allen-Bradley are key components in PanelView HMI or human-machine interface terminals. A complete PanelView HMI includes a display module and a logic module. Optional communication modules can be connected to logic modules to provide an HMI terminal with additional communication capabilities. The logic modules have a range of technical specifications that are suitable for industrial applications. These logic modules can operate with input voltages ranging from 18 to 32 Volts DC or 85 to 264 Volts AC. Each logic module is equipped with serial communication capabilities, USB ports, and real-time clocks. The logic modules also support different types of memory, including RAM, nonvolatile memory, and free user memory. The USB ports on logic modules allow users to connect a keyboard, mouse, or printer to a PanelView HMI terminal. The logic modules also include slots for SD cards, status indicator lights, and rest switches. Some logic modules come with internal CompactFlash, and some do not. Different logic modules are available with different CompactFlash sizes and different CompactFlash contents. PanelView logic modules are categorized into subseries A to H, and different logic modules are compatible with different versions of display modules, communication modules, and external devices. The logic modules attach directly to the rear of PanelView display modules, and some PanelView display modules are available with logic modules already installed. In hazardous environments, marine-certified or conformally-coated logic modules can be used in durable interfaces to control machines in hazardous and demanding applications. Several PanelView logic modules for PanelView 700 to 1500 series interface terminals feature 2-position or 3-position removable terminal blocks that accommodate 22 to 16 AWG gauge wires.
