Allen-Bradley engineered the 2198-H025-ERS2 is a Kinetix 5500 range servo drive. The drive has motion, safety, and safety-only connection modes as well as a safety-only mode. This drive unit supports bus-sharing multi-axis configurations and standalone units, featuring an uncomplicated installation method and user-friendly operation. The servo drive includes an inbuilt shunt resistor to dissipate surplus energy. It has two (2) input supply voltage ranges: one is 195-264V rms (three-phase), and the other one is three-phases 324-528V rms, with nominal voltage levels of 240VAC and 480VAC, respectively. This drive has a continuous output current of 8 amps, a peak output current of 11.3 amps, a peak output current (rms) of 20 amps, and a 0-pk output current of 28.3 amps, with an output power of 2.4 kW at 195-264V and 5.1 kilowatts at 324 to 528 volts. The drive has an integrated safety controller that may be used to implement a number of safety features such as safe stop, safe torque off, and safe speed monitor. In addition, the drive offers excellent performance and precision control for a wide range of motor types, including induction motors, permanent magnet synchronous motors, and brushless DC motors. The drive is simple to set up and operate, and it has a number of features that make troubleshooting and maintenance a breeze. The drive has an IP20 protection class, and it meets several safety standards. When fitted with the connector kit, this drive has an operating temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius; when installed with a converter kit, the temperature range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius (32 to 104 °F); both circumstances have a relative humidity of 5-95%.
