The Allen-Bradley 2198-H025-ERS, which is a member of the Kinetix 5500 product range, is a highly adaptable and sophisticated motion and position control drive with cutting-edge connection and control options. It is fully compatible with the Studio 5000 Design environment, providing simple access to drive parameters via supplemental instructions and profiles, and supporting integrated architecture for use with the CompactLogix, ControlLogix, and GuardLogix controller families. This drive can run on voltages between 195 and 264 volts rms, three-phase (nominal 240 and 480 volts), respectively. It can supply 1.5 kW at 195-264V rms, three-phase, and 3.2 kW at 324-528V rms, three-phase, with a constant output current (rms) of 7.1 A and a peak output current (rms) of 12.5 A. With the 2198-H025-ERS, you can be certain that power transistors will shut down safely in response to a digital input, since it features hardwired safe torque-off (STO) capabilities. Input terminals can be cascaded to neighboring drives through a STO connection, although this function can be disabled via jumper wires if necessary. This drive has built-in safety measures and can be expanded to support other types of Ethernet topologies (linear, ring, and star) with the help of different controllers. It is very efficient (97%) and has a short-circuit current rating of 200,000 A (rms). In addition, it may work with either a grounded or an ungrounded power supply, having grounding screws preinstalled for grounded setups as standard. The 2198-H025-ERS comes with everything you need to get started quickly and easily setting up motion and position control applications, including connections for motor feedback, wire plug connectors, and connectors for various power inputs.
