Allen-Bradley 2198-H015-ERS2 module belongs to the Kinetix 5500 series servo drive. This servo drive is designed for motion and position control applications and can communicate directly with controllers on the Ethernet I/P network. This drive supplies the appropriate output current and power to drive a Kinetix servo motor in accordance with the motion and positioning profile. There are two (2) Ethernet communication interfaces included with this module supporting the topologies linear, star, and device level ring (DLR). As the drive's integrated functional safety, this servo drive can also provide safe torque-off (STO) functionality. It is capable of solo and multi-axis bus sharing and can be set for shared DC, shared AC, multi-axis shared DC/AC or shared DC/AC hybrid installations. The CompactLogix 5370 controllers are specifically compatible with the 2198-H015-ERS2 for implementing integrated motion over Ethernet I/P. Its motion axes can be defined depending on the controller. The controller can also be configured with a position loop, velocity loop, and torque loop. The input voltage range for the 2198-H015-ERS2 is 3-phase 195-264 volts (rms), and 324-528V (rms), with nominal voltage levels of 240 volts and 480 volts, respectively. Its main AC input current is 5.20 amps at 480V class, 3.40 amps at 240V class nominal power. This drive has a maximum velocity bandwidth of 300 hertz and a current loop bandwidth of 1000 hertz. Its internal shunt resistor value is 60 ohms. Overall, this device serves as a high-performance servo drive intended for use in industrial applications such as packing, machine tools, and robotics.
