The display modules developed by Allen-Bradley are used in a wide range of industrial applications, and they provide operators with a visual interface that allows them to monitor and control application processes. Most Allen-Bradley display modules are part of the Allen-Bradley PanelView product line, which includes different series of display modules with different screen sizes, operator input options, and other features. A display module needs to be connected to a logic module to create a complete basic interface terminal. Communication modules can also be connected to many display and logic modules to provide an interface terminal with advanced communication capabilities. Display modules can be used in AC-powered or DC-powered interface terminals because the logic modules determine the type of voltage that a terminal operates with. Allen-Bradley display modules are available with keypads, touchscreens, or both. The size of the keypad, the number of keys, the types of keys, and the size of the touchscreen depend on the display module model. Additionally, some Allen-Bradley display modules support color graphics, while others only support monochrome graphics. These display modules can be used in non-hazardous environments, in Class III hazardous environments, and in certain types of Class I and Class II hazardous environments. Some display modules are available individually without logic modules, and some come preconfigured with connected logic modules. Display modules in the Allen-Bradley PanelView 1500 series have 15-inch display screens. Display modules in the Allen-Bradley PanelView 600 series have 5.5-inch display screens. Some display modules have backlights that are bright enough for them to be read clearly in different kinds of ambient lighting, and some modules have backlights that are replaceable.
