Other Available Revisions for the Logix5565 Logix5565//A
The Allen Bradley Logix5565 is a ControlLogix 5000 processor with 32 megabytes of user memory. The Logix5565 has an I/O memory of 478 kilobytes. The processor has 1 serial port (RS-232) for communication. Devices are connected with the Logix5565 by using a terminal block which is then interfaced with the processor through a D-shaped port found on the processor. On its faceplate, the Logix5565 has monitoring LED indicators which indicate RUN, FORCE, BAT, Input Output, RS-232, and OK working status of the module. This indicators help in early detection system faults. The Logix5565 ControlLogix 5000 processor can experience an electrical arc, if the battery used to support the volatile memory, the Compact Flash card providing non-volatile memory, or when the Logix5565 is installed or removed from the backplane while the power is still connected. In addition, disconnecting or connecting the serial cable while power to the Logix5565 is still active is likely to cause an electrical arc which can result to an explosion in hazardous locations. The Logix5565 accommodates 128 thousand digital Input Outputs while a maximum of 4 thousand analog Input Outputs can be connected to the Logix5565. The processor is rack mountable where it occupies a single slot in the 1756 Input Output chassis.
The Logix5565 supports 250 (maximum) controller connections. Additionally, the Logix5565 can be adversely affected by static electricity, which will consequently affect normal operation and cause internal damage. To caution the processor from electrostatic discharge, proper grounding measures should be observed. Connector pins should not be touched with bare hands and when storing, the Logix5565 should be stored in a static-safe packaging.
