The Allen-Bradley Logix5562 (catalog number: 1756-L62) is an advanced processor module for the ControlLogix platforms. It can be inserted into any slot of a chassis. Furthermore, multiple controllers can be installed in the same chassis. Multiple controllers in the same chassis operate independently and communicate with each other across the chassis backplane. The memory included with the Logix5562 includes the following: 4 MB for user data and 478 KB for I/O. CompactFlash based nonvolatile memory is available as an option with the 1784-CF128 module, providing 128 MB of memory. The module can support up to 128,000 total I/O, up to 4000 analog I/O, and up to 128,000 digital I/O. One integrated serial RS-232 port on the Logix5562 can be used for programming of the module. The Relay Ladder, SFC, and Function Block Diagram languages are supported by the module. Optional communication modules include DeviceNet, DH+, ControlNet, and Ethernet modules.

The operating temperature range for the Logix5562 is from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The air surrounding the module must not be allowed to reach a temperature higher than 60 degrees Celsius. The storage temperature range is from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The vibration rating for the module is 2G at 10 to 500 Hertz. The operating shock rating is 30G, whereas the storage shock rating is 50G. Series A Logix5562 modules weigh 0.32 kilograms, whereas the series B modules weigh 0.35 kilograms.
