The Allen-Bradley Logix5561 (catalog number: 1756-L61) is a CPU module for ControlLogix systems. It supports 32 concurrent tasks with 100 programs per task. The module supports controller redundancy. The Logix5561 includes 2 MB of user memory and 478 KB of I/O memory. Nonvolatile memory is available through optional 128 MB CompactFlash card. The module supports 128,000 maximum digital I/O, a maximum of 4000 analog I/O, and a total of 128,000 I/O. The Logix5561 includes an integrated RS-232 serial port which can be used to program the module. The 1756-CP3 or 1747-CP4 serial cables are supported for connecting to the serial port. The serial port supports the ASCII, DH-485, and DF1 protocols. The programming languages supported by the Logix5561 include the structured text, ladder, and SFC languages. Optional communications modules that are available include Ethernet, DH+, Remote I/O, DeviceNet and ControlNet.
The Logix5561 supports the 1756-BA1, 1756-BATM, and the 1756-BATA replacement battery modules for the Series A CPU modules, and the 1756-BA2 replacement battery module for the Series B CPU modules. It draws 1.2 Amps of current at 5.1 Volts AC and 14 milliamps of current at 24 Volts DC from the I/O chassis backplane. The thermal and power dissipation are 11.9 BTU/hour and 3.5 Watts, respectively. The working and storage temperature range for the Logix5561 are from 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and -40 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively. The temperature of the air surrounding the module should never be more than 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It requires 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity for optimal operation. The weight of Series A modules is 0.71 pounds, and that of Series B modules is 0.78 pounds.
