The Allen-Bradley 1756-TBE is an extended depth housing. It is used when there is additional wire routing space required for the remote terminal block applications. The I/O terminal block and the 1756-TBE allow up to 628 sq millimeters of wire capacity. When installing the 1756-TBE with the module, users should first align the bottom grooves with the edges of the removable terminal block and then slide the terminal block until it locks into place with the housing. The field side power should not be removed when installing the housing. It is necessary to take precaution and safety measures while installing the module to prevent any damage to the equipment and ensure safety of the operator.
The cover must be installed by following the instructions of the manufacturer and it must be installed by a trained person who is familiar with the system. It is to be used with heavy gauge wiring. Before installation, make sure the wiring is completed on the remote terminal block side and that the door of the block is closed. The locking tab of the module should be unlocked. Make sure the power is turned off because touching the terminals may be hazardous and may cause an electric shock when the terminals are live. The 1756-TBE protects the wiring by providing a cover to the wires on the terminal block which are connected to the module. It is recommended to use the housing when the size of the wires being used is 36-18 AWG or 23-14 AWG.
