The 756-RM2XT is an Allen Bradley enhanced redundancy module for use in an extreme environment where a redundant system is required. The 756-RM2XT is engineered under the ControlLogix series and works as a pair in each of the Chassis. The main role is to act as supervisor for the operating states and the state transitions which act as the state transitions that act as foundations for a redundant operation framework. The module is an effective interference-free and it is ideal for use in the ControlLogix SIL 2 Applications. ControlLogix and greater provides supports for the 756-RM2XT to ensure it has a high availability. Being part of the ControlLogix Redundancy Module Series, the 756-RM2XT supports ControlLogix 5560 and the ControlLogix 5570 controller families.
The 756-RM2XT is mostly used together with other enhanced redundancy modules and cannot be utilized with 1756-RM/A, the 1756-RM/B or the 1756-RMXT. The module is rated for utilization in the extreme environments where or that is characterized with harsh conditions. It draws an operating current of 1.16 Amps, and 3.4 mA at 5.1 Volts DC and 24 Volts DC power supplies from the backplane. The 756-RM2XT comes with a maximum power dissipation of 6 Watts and the thermal dissipation is rated at 21 BTU per hour. The 756-RM2XT occupies a single slot and is usually installed on either of the chassis slots. 756-RM2XT is compatible with the Bulletin 1756-RMC series of the connector cables with the standard 1756-PAXT and 1756-PBXT as the power supplies.
