Allen-Bradley's 1756-RM is a module for ControlLogix redundancy, that can only be used with the ControlLogix platform to enable redundancy for controllers. It manages the connectivity between two (2) identical controllers deployed in a rack with identical components and configurations. It offers redundancy system monitoring and module health monitoring via an embedded LED display, including PRI, COM, and OK. The current consumption of the 1756-RM redundancy module is 4 mA at 1.2 volts DC, 1.2 mA at 5.1 volts DC, and 120 mA at 24 volts DC. It has a power dissipation of 9 watts. This ControlLogix device has an open enclosure and a T4 temperature code. The unit is chassis-mounted and can be inserted into any available position. The 1756-RM is available in series A and B. It is strongly recommended to install the same series to maximize the redundancy setup's functionality. When paired with the same series of redundancy modules, 100 Mbps (megabits per second) are attainable. This module is compatible with 1756-A4/A7/A10/A13/A17 ControlLogix chassis, 1756-PA72/PA75/PB72/PB75 standard power supplies, as well as other 1756-xx redundant power supplies. It's a single-slot module that can be installed in any available chassis position. The redundant pair's configuration must match that of the companion chassis. The 1756-RM includes one LC fiber optic connector with single-mode operation. It is necessary to use the 1756-RMCx redundancy cable to synchronize the redundant controller pair's operation. This controller can be configured using the redundancy configuration utility for setting up redundancy and the Studio 5000 Logix designer for configuring the module's global parameters. The operating temperature range for the 1756-RM module is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit); it carries certifications from CE, C-Tick, CSA, and cUL-us standards.
