The 1756-OW16I is a ControlLogix 16-point isolated contact output module which is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. Its operating voltage ranges between 10 and 240 Volts AC or 5 and 125 Volts DC, and it has 15.35 BTU/hour of thermal dissipation capability and CR300/R150 pilot duty. It weighs 0.414 kilograms and features an open-style enclosure. The 1756-OW16I output module features 16 individually isolated outputs and provides real –time information on its health and input/Output status through its onboard indicators. Output devices, controllers, and adapters in a ControlLogix system can send and receive output commands through the 1756-OW16I output module and the connections between it and other devices and components within the system can be achieved through rack optimized or direct connections.
A Logix5000 controller can serve as the owner-controller of the 1756-OW16I isolated contact output module for the purpose of sending configuration data and module behavior and operation data. It can be mounted in the same chassis as the Logix5000 controller or it can be mounted remotely via an EtherNet, ControlNet, or IP network. The 1756-OW16I isolated contact output module offers real-time diagnostics and fault reporting features and it requires either a Bulletin 1492 wiring interface module (IFM) or a removable terminal block for connecting all field-side wiring within the system.
