The 1756-OV16E is a ControlLogix 16-point electronically fused sinking output module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is rated in the 12 or 24 Volts DC sink voltage category with ratings of 10 to 30 Volts DC operating voltage, 1.12 watts of backplane power, 22.94 BTU/hour of thermal dissipation, 1 Amp (DC-13/SR) of pilot duty rating, 75 microseconds to 1 millisecond of OFF to ON and 360 microseconds to 1 millisecond of ON to OFF maximum output delay time, 2 milliamps of current draw at 24 Volts, and it weighs 0.337 kilograms. It features 16 electronically fused outputs (8 points per group) and an open-style enclosure. Like other Allen-Bradley output modules, the 1756-OV16E output module is ideal for driving different output devices such as motor starters, solenoids, indicators, and other devices that require no more than 1 bit to operate and it can seamlessly communicate output commands between ControlLogix systems and field devices.
The 1756-OV16E output module can either be connected in the same 1756 chassis with a Logix5000 owner-controller from which it receives output commands. The ControlNet or EtherNet or IP networks can be used in connecting it to another chassis remotely. Multiple controllers cannot be used on the 1756-OV16E output module simultaneously, but it can be installed or uninstalled from the ControlLogix system without causing disruptions to other operations going on within the same system. The open style enclosure of the 1756-OV16E output module makes it suitable for use in environments that are free from vapor, dust, or corrosive gases. Also, its operating temperature should not exceed 60 degrees Celsius.
