It provides On/Off acuation and detection for a wide range of output devices like motor starters in an industrial environment.
Note that the 1756-ON8 output module is only a component of a ControlLogix system which also consists of controllers, removable terminal blocks (RTB), and adapters. Shutting off the power supply to the ControlLogix system in order to remove or install the module is not necessary because such operations would not disrupt other processes in the system. The integral status indicators of the Allen-Bradley 1756-ON8 digital output module make it easy to monitor the I/O status and module health in the ControlLogix system and it supports direct and rack-optimized connections. Note that exceeding the surge and power rating while applying the 1756-ON8 digital output module to devices in its network can result in damage.
