Allen Bradley created the 1756-OB16IS is a ControLogix series I/O unit that serves as an output module featuring 16 individually-isolated sinking/sourcing outputs, 8 of which are scheduled, and is positioned on the 1756 chassis slot. It has a contact rating of 2 amps and an operational voltage range of 0-30 volts. It features a signal delay time of 1 millisecond from OFF to ON and 2 milliseconds from ON to OFF, a backplane current of 350 milliamps at 5.1 volts DC and 2.5 milliamps at 24V DC, and a total backplane power consumption of 1.8 watts. At 60 degrees Celsius, the module's maximum power dissipation is 3.6 watts, and its thermal dissipation is 12.28 BTU/hr. In the ON state, the highest voltage loss is 1.2V DC at 2 amps, and every point has a leakage current of 0.5 milliamps (mA). Each point also has a nominal current of 1 amp, or 2 amps at 30/60 with an 8/4 amps maximum current on the module at 30/60 and 4 amps surge current for 10 milliseconds repeats every 2 seconds on each output point with a 1 milliamp minimum current load. It features 8 scheduled outputs synchronized every 16.7 seconds and have hold last, ON, or OFF fault states, with OFF being the default. It has 250 volts rated isolation between outputs-to-backplane and outputs-to-output, and it has been routinely tested at 1350 volts rated AC for 2 seconds. It has an open-style housing structure. It has a maximum ambient temperature of 60 degrees (140 °F) and has been tested to function within the specified performance level with an operational vibration of 2G and a shock of 30G.
