The 1756-M23 module from Allen-Bradley is a non-volatile memory module containing 1.5 MB (megabytes) capacity and is intended for use with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 5555 controllers. The 1756-M23 module can add non-volatile memory to ControlLogix 5555 controllers or replace damaged memory modules. To install or replace the 1756-M23 module, the operator must set the controller on a flat surface with the label facing up. After that, the side plate should be removed. The controller's existing memory board (if it exists) should then be removed. The new or replacement 1756-M23 module should be put on the controller, followed by the reinstallation of the side plate. A label for the memory module can then be added to aid in device identification. The 1756-M23 is a popular option for expanding the memory of ControlLogix controllers due to its low cost and simple installation. It is also a viable option for applications that require additional memory but do not require a memory expansion controller. The 1756-M23 memory module is compatible with any ControlLogix chassis that includes an expansion slot. The emissions standard CISPR 11 (Group 1, Class A) is met by the module. The UR, CSA, CE, C-tick, and EEx requirements have all been met by the 1756-M23 module. The environmental specifications for the 1756-M23 module include a temperature range of -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit for module storage, a temperature range of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit for operation, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5 to 95% for operation and storage.
