The Allen-Bradley 1756-M08SE is an 8-axis SERCOS servo module for ControlLogix systems. The 1756-M08SE module uses a fiber-optic communication link to communicate with servo drives. It is compatible with the following multi-axis servo drives: the 2093 Kinetix 2000 and the 2094 Kinetix 6000. It is also compatible with the 2099 Kinetix 7000 and the 2098 Ultra3000 SERCOS drives. One slot is required for the 1756-M08SE module in the chassis and it can be installed in any slot. The supported chassis types include 1756-A4/A7/A10/A13/A17. Some of power supplies that are supported include the 1756-PA72/C, 1756-PH75/B and the 1756-PB72/C. Supported redundant power supplies include the 1756-PA75R, 1756-PSCA2 and the 1756-PB75R.
The 1756-M08SE supports a maximum of 8 drives. The data rates supported by the module are 4 Mbps and 8 Mbps. At a 4 Mbps data rate, the SERCOS cycle times are 0.5, 1 and 2 milliseconds for 2, 4, and 8 drives, respectively. At 8 Mbps, the SERCOS cycle times are 0.5, 1, and 2 milliseconds for 4, 8, and 16 drives, respectively. The supported drive control modes include torque, velocity, and position. The electrical power requirements of the 1756-M08SE are 760 milliamps at 5.1 Volts DC and 2.5 milliamps at 24 Volts DC. The power dissipation is 5 Watts. The 1756-M08SE is an open module. The working and storage temperature ranges are 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively. The range for the ambient relative humidity is from 5 to 95%. The operating shock rating is 30G and the vibration rating is 2G at 10 to 500 Hertz.
