About 1756-L83ES
The 1756-L83ES controller is a ControlLogix 5580 safety controller manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is used in different industries and it helps to communicate with safety I/O devices following the common industrial protocols. It performs safety and standard functions and communicates with the GuardLogix control system. It comes with 10 MB of standard memory and 5 MB of safety memory. It can support up to 250 Ethernet/IP devices. The front section of the unit comes with a 4-character LED display that shows the status of the controller along with LED indicators. These indicators illuminate for “NET,” “LINK,” “RUN,” “FORCE,” “SD,” and “OK” status updates. A 1-GB Ethernet port is also present on the front of the unit. The 1756-L83ES controller is manufactured with an open enclosure and it should be used for indoor applications only.
The Allen-Bradley 1756-L83ES controller is connected to the Stratix 5700 switch which is then connected to the digital inputs to the sensor and the control string. The same switch is used to connect the controller to a personal computer.
