Allen-Bradley's 1756-L81E is a controller device from the ControlLogix 5580 product family, the most recent and aesthetically advanced ControlLogix series. It is a programmable automation controller (PAC) with contemporary connectivity and modern features, allowing it to serve as a migration platform for legacy controllers such as PLC5 and SLC500 controllers, as well as solutions for demanding industrial application requirements. This controller module requires only a single chassis position. It is compatible with various ControlLogix chassis, including 1756-xx, series B, and series C. It can also be configured in simplex, redundant, or high-availability systems and is compatible with a vast array of power supplies, including 1756-Pxx redundant power supplies. The 1756-L81E belongs to the lower end of the 1756-L8 series controllers due to its 3 megabytes (MB) user memory and nonvolatile memory via the secure digital (SD) card 1784-SD2. This controller can manage up to 128,000 discrete input/output signals and 4,000 analog input/output signals. It also eliminates the need for a battery to back up the controller's RAM because it is equipped with an eco-friendly energy storage solution. It has an integrated USB v2 port. It supports a maximum of 60 Ethernet/IP devices and offers multiple communication options. The 1756-L81E can be installed in any ControlLogix chassis slot and occupies one slot. It has an open-style casing. Its operational temperature ranges from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) at 5 to 95 percent relative humidity without condensation. The 1756-L81E is certified by IEC, CSA, and c-UL-us. It is rated to withstand 30G of impact and 2G of vibration at 10-500 hertz.
