The Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 is a digital DC input module with 16 inputs for ControlLogix systems. This switch is a sink-style, 12–24 volt DC switch. Its working voltage input range is 10 to 31.2 volts DC. Operators can utilize the 1756-IB16 module in the local chassis of a ControlLogix PLC or in a chassis that is connected to the PLC through an EtherNet or ControlNet network. This DC input module has 16 inputs (2 sets of 8 points each). For industrial automation equipment to be connected, either a Bulletin 1492 wire interface module or an RTB is needed. Through the backplane, the Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16's high-speed processing capacity is connected to the ControlLogix PLC. A cycle update time of greater than 750 milliseconds never occurs. On the surface side of the Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16, there are sixteen LED indications for Input/Output status. They all become yellow when the corresponding input is triggered. The user can choose a filtering time for each input. One can choose to filter in one, two, nine, or eighteen milliseconds (no filtering), or in zero milliseconds. For ease of maintenance, the Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 has a removal & insertion under energy function. Module storage is appropriate at temperatures between -40 to +85 degrees Celsius (-40 - +185 degrees in Fahrenheit). It operates within a temperature range of 0 - 60 degrees Celsius (32 - 140 degrees Fahrenheit). This module includes certifications from ATEX and C-Tick in addition to being CE, CSA, and cULus labelled. Its isolated voltage is 250 volts, which is applied to the backplane and input groups.
