The 1756-HYD02 is manufactured by Allen-Bradley and it comes from the series of ControlLogix analog servo motors. The series features a wide range of both closed-loop and open-loop motion control for analog motion devices. It is designed to provide accurate positioning and control for hydraulic cylinders. This is a Hydraulic servo module is designed to work for low voltage applications. The device operates at 24 Volts DC and it has a power dissipation of 5.5 Watts. It has Proportional, Integral, and Differential Feed forward loop types with options for directional scaling. The module can control two axes. If needed, multiple modules can be used together to support up to 32 controlling axes. The 1756-HYD02 is a 36-pin module with 2 analog inputs and it also features a solid-state relay contact (isolated). The operator can wire the module to any linear displacement transducer to acquire feedback and control. The module monitors the position through the LDT transducer and an analog signal is generated to the actuators. The output is typically a velocity command represented by a ±10 Volts DC at 16 bits resolution.
Additionally, the 1756-SYNCH module will be needed to synchronize motion sensors and actuators across multiple chassis. All ControlLogix Hydraulic Servo modules can be only mounted in ControlLogix chassis. There is a removable terminal block as well as the interface module to accommodate field side wirings. The module’s installation process is simple. The ControlLogix chassis should be already installed and grounded before introducing the module. Ensure that the module is electrostatically discharged, otherwise, it could cause performance deficiency as well as permanent damage.
