The 1769-SM1 module is a CompactLogix network communication module that has been designed by Allen-Bradley. This communication module has been specially designed to work with the compact inputs and outputs on the DPI/SCANport network. Some of the advantages of using this communications module are that it provides different connections between Allen-Bradley products, and these products are included in the Micrologix 1500, Compactlogix, and the remote base adapter series of the 1769 line. Some of the features that come with the Allen-Bradley 1769-SM1 network communication module are a bus lever that comes with a locking function, upper and lower DIN rail latches that provide support when the module is installed on a DIN rail, upper and lower panel mounting tabs that also provides support when installing the module on a panel, and different mobile bus connectors that come with female and male pins.
The Allen-Bradley 1769-SM1 network communication module can be used as an expansion I/O module on the MicroLogix 1500 and the CompactLogix controllers, and it can automatically detect the DPI or ScanPort host that is connected to a specific channel. Some of the specifications for the Allen-Bradley 1769-SM1 network communication module are a DBI or a standpoint protocol with data rates of 125 Kilobytes per second or 500 Kilobytes per second. This module has a current consumption rating of 280 milliamps at 5 Volts DC and it comes with a channel that works with a current consumption rating of 60 milliamps at 12 Volts DC. The module comes with a power supply distance rating of 6 module and it has an approximate weight of 142 grams.
The 1769-SM1 module is a compact I/O to DPI/SCANport module from the PowerFlex product series that is made by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The module is compatible with a variety of products that provide support for SCANport communication. The module is compatible with the following product families: the 1336 PLUS, 1336 PLUS II, 1336 FORCE, 1336 IMPACT, and the 1336 REGEN product series. The 1769-SM1 module has dimensions that include a height of 118 millimeters (4.65 inches), a depth of 87 millimeters (3.43 inches), and a width of 35 millimeters (1.38 inches). The approximate weight of the module is 142 grams or 0.31 pounds. The 1769-SM1 module operates with data rates of 125 or 500 kilobits per second. The module has a distance rating of 6 devices and it has a power consumption rating of 280 milliamps at 5 Volts DC and 0 milliamps at 24 Volts DC. The power consumption per channel is 60 milliamps at 12 Volts DC.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1769-SM1 PowerFlex module complies with regulations listed in standards such as the UL, cUL, CE, and C-Tick standards. The 1769-SM1 module connects with a 10-meter (32.8-foot) cable for SCANport usage and it can use cables that are 75 to 100 meters (246 to 328 feet) long for communication with DPI hosts. The module has an operating temperature range of -10 to 50 degrees Celsius (14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit) and a storage temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). The tolerated relative humidity levels are 5 to 95% (non-condensing). Additionally, the module tolerates an operational shock of 30 G per 11 milliseconds and vibration of 5 G at the frequency of 10 to 500 Hertz.
