The 1769-SDN module is an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation component from the Bulletin 1769 product line. This compact I/O scanner module is intended for DeviceNet communication. The module has the capability to communicate with a maximum of 63 devices at a time and it supports up to 63 slave I/O nodes at a time. The module can be configured as a slave or master device and it has a distance rating of 4 devices when it comes to compatibility with a power supply module. The 1769-SDN module supports panel mounting and it requires a minimum space of 50 millimeters (2 inches) on all sides for proper ventilation.
The 1769-SDN module requires a current of 90 milliamps at 11 Volts DC and 110 milliamps at 25 Volts DC. Note that the inrush current rating of the unit is 200 milliamps for the duration of 1.5 milliseconds. The 1769-SDN module features a heat dissipation rating of 3.8 Watts and it has a maximum bus current draw of 440 milliamps at 5 Volts DC.
