The Allen-Bradley 1769-OF2 Analog Voltage and Current Output Module is a solid-state, microprocessor-based electronic circuit that is designed and built by Allen-Bradley for its 1769 CompactLogix Programmable Logic Controller product family. It comes as a small and lightweight module with approximate dimensions of 118 x 35 x 87 millimeters (4.65 x 1.38 x 3.43 inches) and only a quarter pound of weight that allows it to be directly inserted in the available slots of an Allen-Bradley 1769 PLC or mounted on a DIN rail inside a panel. The Allen-Bradley 1769-OF2 Analog Voltage and Current Output Module offers great versatility of application, with output ranges such as 0 to 10 Volts, 0 to 5 Volts, 1 to 5 Volts, 0 to 20 milliamps and the most common range of 4 to 20 milliamps.
The Allen-Bradley 1769-OF2 Analog Voltage and Current Output Module needs to be fed power from either an Allen-Bradley 1769-PA2, 1769-PB2, 1769-PA4, or 1769-PB4 CompactLogix Power Supply Module. Additional connection wires are available in various lengths to provide data communication to and from the CompactLogix PLC when the Allen-Bradley 1769-OF2 Analog Voltage and Current Output Module must be installed separately for any reason. It comes from the factory with open circuit and short circuit protection features rated at 21 milliamps. The module is smart enough to detect the voltage or current range it is being connected to, so no additional calibration from the final users is needed. The power supply distance rating of this module is 8 modules, which means it must be located at the eighth slot away from the power supply in any given application. Because of its open construction style, the manufacturer recommends placing this module inside a protected panelboard.
