About 1769-L38ERMO

The Allen-Bradley module with part number 1769-L38ERMO is an Armor Compact GuardLogix controller. This controller platform enhances CompactLogix control capability with the capability of using Allen-Bradleys On-Machine space, allowing the controller to be put within the vicinity of the machine or to the machine itself. This controller is still capable of implementing the capabilities of a 1769-L38ERM controller with major enhancement including an IP67 enclosure aside from the compatibility with the On-Machine technology. The 1769-L38ERMO is popular with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) or machine builders. The 1769-L38ERMO also features motion control capability. With motion control, this controller may be used in machines that performs accurate control of drives position, torque, velocity and speed. This type of control are commonly performed by machined, commonly found in factory automation, more specifically in manufacturing and assembly lines. The motion capability of this controller allows it to implement control up to Sixteen (16) motion axes over Ethernet I/P. Compatible drives include Kinetix 350, Kinetix 5500, Kinetix 5700, and Kinetix 6500 drives for position, torque and velocity while Power Flex 755 drive includes Frequency control for speed modulation. The 1769-L38ERMO is supplied with an IP67 Protection rating . It is applicable for in UL Type 4X applications and environments. Connection to the controller are enabled by IP67 circular connectors or cordsets. Mounting holes are already provided to prevent hardware modification. It is not advised to modify the controllers housing as this may compromise and void the IP67 protection. When mounting the controller, maintain controller spacing which measures 30 mm or 1.18 inches on all side of the controller. The 1769-L38ERMO also comes with an enclosure access door wherein Controller mode toggle switch, Controller memory card socket, Controller USB port, Controller reset button and Power supply fuse circuitry may be accessed when the door is opened. The door is fixed by Four (4) captive screws. These screws are needed to be loosened to open the access door however, the access door does not completely detach to the hardware. When screws are loosen, the door is rotated with pivot located at the lower left of the controller. The 1769-L38ERMO has Two (2) Ethernet communication ports, that supports design of resilient TCP I/P topology through the Device Level Ring (DLR) which is a fault-tolerant topology. It may also be designed in simple linear and star topology. It also comes with a USB 2.0 with type B receptacle. This USB port is typically used for initial download of controller configuration and settings however, it cannot be used to communicate to visualization systems as well as perform data exchange with other industrial applications. Use the Ethernet I/P interface for this purpose. This controller ships with a removable Secure Digital (SD) card with catalog number 1784-SD1 which has a 1GB memory. Aside from the non-volatile memory, the controller has integrated and non-upgradable user memory that amounts to 5MB.
The Allen-Bradley 1769-L38ERMO is an Armor CompactLogix controller. This controller has 5 Mbyte memory, Dual Ethernet communication port and One (1) USB port. It supports 80 Ethernet nodes, and features integrated motion capability supporting up to Sixteen (16) axes.
