About 1769-L36ERMS

The 1769-L63ERMS is a Compact GuardLogix controller. This controller is basically a safety controller which is compatible for use in Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3, Performance Level (e), CAT 4, and voting hardware structure. Aside from the integrated safety, this controller is capable of implementing motion control over Ethernet. The 1769-L36ERMS motion control capability supports up to Sixteen (16) motion axes, compatible with Kinetix 350 drives, Kinetix 5500 drives, Kinetix 5700 drives, Kinetix 6500 drives, and PowerFlex 755 drives. All kinetix drives support Velocity, Torque and Position control loops while PowerFlex 755 drives are compatible for Velocity, Torque and Position control as well as Frequency control intended for speed. The integrated safety capability of this controller qualifies the module to be installed in safety application requirements with minimum SIL 3 level. Even with safety capability, the controller can function as a standard controller. This controller has embedded safety memory amounting to 1.5 MB. The controllers user memory used for standard functionalities amount to 3MB of volatile user memory. This memory area is maintained by an internal energy storage solution which eliminates the need of a battery. Aside from the embedded volatile memory, the controller ships with a non-volatile memory via the 1769-SD1 memory card amounting to 1GB memory. This memory card may be replaced with 1769-SD2 which has 2GB memory. It is recommended to configure the memory card to store user programs and program data as well as set the controller to access the stored data from the memory card every power cycle of the controller. This configuration prevents t=unwanted shutdown due to program deletion and other situations. This safety controller can be used in combination with 1769 Compact I/O module where in up to Thirty (30) compact I/O modules may be used which can be distributed strategically in Three (3) I/O banks. The controllers Current draw is 850 mA at 5VDc and 700 mA at 24VDC power. It has a power dissipation of 6.5 W and isolation voltage of 50V, Basic Insulation Type Tested at 500V AC for 60 s, System to Communication ports.
