Initial controller configuration may be downloaded through the USB port however, this port cannot be used for communication to devices and systems. Ethernet communication is primarily used to communication with other automation devices. The Dual Ethernet communication port of the supports 10/100 Mbps and capable of communicating up to 48 nodes. It may also be used in different Ethernet topologies such has Device Level Ring (DLR) and Linear topology. DLR topology is a fault tolerant connection used is application that require increase machine availability while linear and star is sued for single path communication. The 1769-L36ERMO is provided with Safety status indicators intended for the controllers integrated safety capability. The integrated safety of the controller is certified for Safety Integrity Level 3, Performance Level (e), CAT 4, and 1oo2 hardware structure. This controller also supports motion in a single programming environment. The controller ships with a detachable Secure Digital (SD) card with catalog number 1784-SD1 having 1GB memory which serves as the controllers non-volatile memory. The controllers built-in volatile user memory amounts to 3MB standard memory while the integrated safety is 1.5MB. IP address setting may be done with the use of the stand-alone tool BOOTP-DHCP. The controllers power connections are established via the Two sealed mini-style power connectors operating in parallel allowing daisy-chaining to power other device. The male connector is input power terminal while the female connector is the output power terminal. Similarly, the ethernet connection is established using circular connectors specifically, D-Code M12 Female network connector. The controller is provided with an enclosure access door which provides access to the Controller mode toggle switch, Controller memory card socket, Controller USB port, Controller reset button and Power supply fuse circuitry.
