About 1769-L33ERMS

The 1769-L33ERMS is a Compact GuardLogix controller. This controller is capable of performing standard controller functions as well as implement safety functions in applications that requires SIL 3 and Performance Level (e) safety ratings. The 1769-L33ERMS is provided with 2MB user memory which is a volatile memory, 1GB non-volatile memory via the 1769-SD1 Secure Digital (SD) card, plus safety memory that amounts to 1.5 MB. This controller, similar to standard CompactLogix controller does not require a battery to maintain the contents of the user memory. Through the embedded energy storage solution, battery need is eliminated however, it is still recommended to configure the controller to load the user program from the non-volatile memory in the case of corruption of program in the user memory. This configuration is used to eliminate unwanted shutdown or machine stoppage. The 1769-L33ERMS also has an embedded dual ethernet communication port that supports Device Level Ring (DLR), Linear and Star topologies. For fault tolerant communication highway, utilize DLR topology to increase the machines availability. This topology is typically used in application with higher level of criticality. Linear and Star topologies are simple, single communication path typically used in less critical applications. When one communication line fails, communication is totally halted while with DLR, communication continues. The controller support installation of up to Sixteen (16) Compact I/O modules which may be distributed in up to Three (3) I/O banks. Additionally, Distributed I/O may be implemented via the Ethernet communication interface. A variety of distributed I/O platforms may be used but the most typically used are 1794 Flex I/O and 1734 POINT I/O modules. Communication to other controllers is also possible with the same Ethernet interface to allow controllers residing in the same network to monitor I/O data and internal tags of the controller. The 1769-L33ERMS also supports a maximum of Eight (8) motion control axes. Upported drives for motion application include Kinetix 350 drives, Kinetix 5500 drives, Kinetix 5700 drives, Kinetix 6500 drives, and PowerFlex 755 drives. Torque, Position and Velocity loops are possible with Kinetix drives while Torque, Position, Velocity and Frequency loops can be implemented using PowerFLex 755. The integrated safety capability of this controller allows the unit for installation in application that require SIL 3 and Performance Level (e) safety applications. When used with Human Machine Interface, standard controller tags may be accessed for Read and Write operation while Safety tags are available only as Read tags.
The Allen-Bradley 1769-L33ERMS is a Compact GuardLogix controller. This controller has 2 Mbyte standard memory and 1 MB safety memory. It has Dual Ethernet communication port and One (1) USB port. It supports 32 Ethernet nodes, Sixteen (16) 1769 Compact I/O modules and features integrated motion capability supporting up to Eight (8) axes. This controller is certified for use up to and including SIL 3 and Performance Level (e) rated applications.
