About 1769-L30ERMS

The Allen-Bradley product with Catalog number 1769-L30ERMS is a Compact GuardLogix controller. This controller is applicable in application that require Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 and Performance Level (PL) e where the de-energized state is considered as the applications safe state. This controller can function as a standard controller as it has standard controller capability with a memory. It may be used along 1769 Compact I/O controllers. It may also be used with Huan Machine Interface (HMI) devices where HMI are permitted to access the controllers standard tags while safety tags are available as read-only data. The 1769-L30ERMS has an integrated user memory of 1MB which is a volatile memory and 0.5 MB memory for safety. Similar with standard CompactLogix controllers, the 1769-L30ERMS is shipped with a Secure Digital (SD) Card with 1 GB non-volatile memory. It has catalog number of 1769-SD1 which can be upgraded using 1769-SD2. This controller requires One (1) power supply to provide power to the backplane. Compatible power supply includes 1769-PA2, 1769-PB2, 1769-PA4 or 1769-PB4. For I/O interface, 1769 Compact I/O modules may be installed wherein up to Eight (8) Compact I/O modules may be installed which may be distributed in Three (3) expansion I/O banks. The 1769 Compact GuardLogix supports distributed I/O architecture through Ethernet I/P network. Compatible I/O adapters include Allen-Bradleys POINT I/O and Flex I/O system. This controller has Two (2) Ethernet communication interfaces that supports Device Level Ring (DLR), Linear and star topology. Device Level Ring is a fault-tolerant network with automatic message re-routing when primary ethernet line fails. It increases controller availability and operation reliability. Linear topology is used in simple, less critical requirements as failure of the single ethernet path disrupts data exchange. Star topology is less utilized nowadays in control networks however, this topology centralizes data to a central hub for access of other devices. Any of the topologies may be used to establish communication between controllers for inter-controller and messaging applications, connection to visualization systems such as Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). It may also be used to simultaneously connect with programming workstation. This controller supports up to Sixteen (16) ethernet nodes. It also has One (1) USB communication port that is primarily used for initial program download, and maintenance. This controller supports up to Four (4) axes used for motion control over Ethernet. Compatible drives for use with the controller includes Kinetix 350, Kinetix 5500, Kinetix 5700, and Kinetix 6500 drives for Position loop, Velocity loop and Torque loop. PowerFlex 755 drive is also compatible for Position loop, Velocity loop, Torque loop and Frequency control application. This controller, along the entire CompactLogix rack may be installed to a DIN rail or mounting plate. Either of the installation, the CompactLogix system must be installed inside an enclosure that provides protection to elements and disturbances. Temperature inside the enclosure must be maintained within 0-60 C or 32-140 F.
The Allen-Bradley 1769-L30ERMS is a Compact GuardLogix controller. This controller has 1 Mbyte user memory and 0.5 Mbyte safety memory. It has Dual Ethernet communication port and One (1) USB port. This controller has an integrated motion capability over Ethernet supporting up to Four (4) axes.
