About 1769-IA8I

The Allen-Bradley 1769-IA8I is a CompactLogix AC digital module. It is a programmable logic controller module that has 8 individually-isolated inputs available. It also has a power supply distance rating of 8, which means that it cannot be more than 8 modules away from a system's power supply. Connection cables compatible with this module are the 22 to 14 AWG solid and 22 ot 16 AWG stranded cables. It also comes with LED status indicators and can be mounted using a DIN rail or panel mount. The entire module measures 1.38 x 3.43 x 4.65 inches and has an open-type enclosure. The input voltage of the 1769-IA8I ranges from 79 to 132 Volts AC at 47 to 63 Hertz, while its voltage rating is 100 to 120 Volts AC. It has a maximum off-state voltage of 20 Volts AC and a minimum on-state voltage of 79 Volts AC. It also has an off-state current of 2.5 mA and an on-state current that ranges from a minimum of 5 mA at 74 Volts AC and a maximum of 12 mA at 120 Volts AC. The 1769-IA8I’s current draw is 90 mA at 5.1 Volts and an inrush current of 250 mA. The power dissipation is at 1.81 W while the input impedance is 12 KΩ at 50 Hertz and 10 KΩ at 60 Hertz. It also has a power consumption of 33.6 W. The 1769-IA8I has a non-condensing relative humidity of 5 to 95% and a delay response time of 20 milliseconds for both the ON and OFF states. It has an operating vibration of 5g at 10 to 500 Hertz and a relay operating vibration of 2g. The 1769-IA8I’s operating shock is 30g when panel-mounted and 20g when DIN-rail-mounted, its relay operating shock is 7.5g when panel-mounted and 5g when DIN rail-mounted and its non-operating shock is 40g when panel-mounted and 30g when DIN rail-mounted. The 1769-IA8I’s operating temperature range is from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius while its storage temperature is from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. This module supports up to 5Mbps communication speed and capable of communicating of up to 48 ControlNet nodes. It is fitted with a single BNC connector and One (1) Network Access Port (NAP). ControlNet network is composed of a Trunk Line, ControlNet Taps, Drop cable, Nodes and Terminating resistor. Trunk line serves as the main communication highway. The trunk line length which uses an RG-6 coaxial cable depends on the number of connected ControlNet nodes. ControlNet nodes, are the physical devices connected to the Trunk line, that connects with the use of a ControlNet tap and drop cable assembly. The drop cable must not be more than 3.28 ft. Installed at both ends of the of the Trunk line are Two (2) 75 Ohm resistor that functions as terminating resistor. This resistor terminates the signal at both ends of the line by consuming them with the resistor acting as the load. This eliminates reflection, interference and signals the end of connection. This module follows the installation clearance required by other 1768 modules. Specifically, allow top and bottom clearance of 4 inches and 3.54 inches on both sides. This is to allow adequate ventilation for natural cooling of the module. Install this module to a properly grounded DIN Rail. Maintain an operating temperature of 0-60 Deg. Celsius within the enclosure. Install an appropriate climate control component such as heater and cooler, depending on the environmental conditions with consideration to the module?s thermal dissipation of 17.5 BTU/hr and other module?s dissipation as well. Limit shock and vibration to 30g and 5g at 10-500 Hz respectively. The module?s physical dimension is 132 x 56.7 x 105.1 mm or 5.20 x 2.23 x 4.12 in. The integrated CNB port is used to provide interface to the ControlNet drop cable while the NAP port allows is designed for local and initial programing of the module. When connection is established via the NAP port while the module is energized, do not connect and disconnect the NAP cable as this may cause electric arc. This electrical occur may damage the module and nearby modules as well. To connect a configuration desktop or a laptop computer to the module, NAP cables that may be used are 1786-CP cable however, this cable requires a 1784-PCIC or 1784-PCICS installed to the computer?s peripheral card slots. Additionally, the same configuration desktop or laptop computer may directly connect to the ControlNet network by connecting the drop cable to the peripheral card. Both these method enables connection to the 1768-CNB module to download and save configuration. Initially, the module 1768-CNB must be introduced
Allen Bradley CompactLogix 1769-IA8I 8 PT. 120 VAC Individually Isolated Input I-O Module
