BUS Expansion Cable
The 1769-CRL3 cable is a compact I/O communication bus expansion cable that has been included in the 1769 series by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This specific model is a right bank to left bank expansion cable that has a length of 1 meter (equivalent to 3.28 feet). The main function of this expansion cable is to extend a 1769 bus module’s communication lines so that it can be attached to equipment that is located further away than it can normally reach. The Allen-Bradley 1769-CRL3 compact I/O communication bus expansion cable can be connected with another cable. A maximum of 2 cables can be used, enabling the use of 3 banks of I/O modules. Each of these banks will need to be provided with their power supply.
To install the Allen-Bradley 1769-CRL3 compact I/O communication bus expansion cable, it is recommended to avoid electrostatic discharges since the cable is sensitive to static and might suffer damages. To avoid static damage, it is recommended to touch a grounded object before attempting to connect the cable and to wear an approved wrist-strap.
