The 1769-2WS is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) module that is manufactured by Allen-Bradleys Encompass Partner company, Hardy Process Solutions. This module is a Weighing Scale module that is compatible for use with MicroLogix 1500 and CompactLogix controllers. The 1769-2WS is used to read and condition weight measurements and data from strain gauge load sensors or load cells with conversion rate of 100 updates per second and transfer the data over the backplane to the PLC processor. The 1769-2WS is a single slot module and conforms to the installation method and module form factor of CompactLogix modules. This module integrates stand-alone scale instrument via hardwiring of signals to the PLC. It also has a digital voltmeter function with a resolution of 10% of full-scale Resolution. This weighing scale module has a resolution of 1:8,388,608 and non-linearity of 0.0015% of Full Scale. It may be used to interface up to four (4) 350 ohm Full Wheatstone Bridge, Strain Gauge Load Sensors/Cells (5 volt excitation) on one vessel. The input channels have user selectable Waversaver settings, used to eliminate surrounding vibration on the weigh scale signal, such as with selection options such as 4.00 Hz, 2.00 Hz,1.00 Hz (Default), 0.50 Hz, 0.25 Hz and OFF. Up to Eight (8) 17692WS may be installed per power supply in a single I/O bank. The 1769-2WS must be installed following Power supply distance rating of Four (4) which means that the module must be installed within 4 slots on either side of the power supply. The 1769-2WS has Common-Mode Rejection of 120dB from 59 to 61 Hz and Common-Mode Voltage Range 2.5VDC maximum with respect to earth ground. The modules Bus input voltage is 5 VDC, Bus Current Load of <0.5 Amperes at 5VDC and Bus Power Load of < 5W at 5 VDC. When using the 1769-2WS, the appropriate cable lengths for use must be 500 feet maximum of C2 authorized cable and 250 feet maximum of C2 authorized cable (Maximum of 4 load sensors) with IT Junction box. The modules C2 Calibration Input and output are both minimum isolation from digital section 1000 VDC. The modules environmental specification includes a Temperature Coefficient of Less than 0.005% of full scale per degree C for CalLO and Cal-HI reference points, Operating Temperature Range of 0 Deg. Celsius to 60 Deg. Celsius of 32 Degree Fahrenheit to 140 Degree Fahrenheit. This module carries industry approvals and certifications from CE, UL, CUL CSA Class I, II, III Div 2 GP A,B,C,D Temp Code T6. The 1769-2WS has optional components used for remote termination such as HI-1769-XX-RTA for Remote Termination which supports two (2) separate HI 1769-WS or HI 1769-2WS weigh scale modules. Unit includes DIN rail mounting for 35mm x 15mm DIN rail; RTA Cable Assemblies with Cable Length of 6 ft. or 1.525 meters from the single channel module to the RTA and HI 215IT Series Junction Box which are waterproof enclosure that are National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) rate, that sums from one to four load sensors.
