It may also be used to send data via email, triggered by the user program. Messaging blocks and instruction shall be used to enable this function. Emails may be sent to maintenance personnel, engineer, supervisor even manager to notify alarms and escalate if necessary, in a timely manner. The 1768-EWEB may also be used for sending system status and production reports. It can be sent to all email clients such as email applications even text pagers. It may also be used to share system data with external applications via xml files. This XML file contains data representation which supports sharing of data to external applications for simplified access and manipulation. The 1768-EWEB has open socket interface, allowing Logix controllers to communicate with Ethernet devices that doesnt support Ethernet I/P application protocol. Some of these devices include barcode scanners and RFID readers. The 1768-EWEB is a single slot module with a single port RJ45 Ethernet switch that support 10/100 Mbps transmission speed. It supports up to 128 Logix communication connections and 64 TCP/IP communication connections. Compatible cable for assembly of a physical Ethernet interface is RJ45 connector according to IEC 60603-7, 2 or 4 pair Category 5e minimum cable according to TIA 568-B.1 or Category 5 cable according to ISO/IEC 24702. The 1768-EWEB is compatible for any standard web browser when planning to Access web pages generated by the Enhanced Web Server module, Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6 with XML support when planning to Create and edit data view web pages on the Enhanced Web Server module and Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6 when viewing sample code. The supported display size of the 1768-EWEB is 640 X 480 or greater. Smaller sizes may work but not ideal as user may find it difficult to scroll the webpage to locate the specific data or information. The default username and password of the module is Administrator (not case sensitive) with no password. Once logged in, user may modify the security settings and other parameters.
