Allen Bradley designed the 1738-AENT ArmorPoint EtherNet/IP series A adapter, which is capable of handling up to 63 modules, 5 rack-optimized connections, and 25 direct connections. This product has a maximum backplane current output of 1 ampere, which can be increased with a 1738-EP24DC backplane extension power supply. This adapter has a maximum inrush current of 6 amperes for 10 milliseconds, a maximum power consumption of 8.1 watts at 28.8 volts, and a maximum power dissipation of 2.8 watts at 28.8 volts. It has a constant isolation voltage of 50 volts and a reverse polarity input overvoltage protection type. This adapter includes LED indicators that allow end users to determine the adapter's status, with the adapter status LED being green/red, the network activity LED getting green, the network status LED getting green/red, the PointBus status LED getting green/red, the system power LED getting green, and the adapter power LED becoming green as well. The 1738-AENT adapter's general parameters include an operational temperature range of -4 to 140°F and a storage temperature range of -40 to 185°F.
