The 1734sc-IE2CH is an enhanced analog input module with Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) capability. This module is manufactured by Spectrum Controls, an Allen-Bradley encompass partner company. This module is generally used to interface analog instruments for measuring process variables. The 1734sc-IE2CH may function simply as a standard analog input module via the moduleÕs Two (2) non-isolated, single-ended channels that supports 4-20 mA nominal signal with input current range of 3.42-20.58mA. This module is compatible for use with POINT I/O modules and directly installs to a POINT I/O Terminal base or Terminal base assembly with catalog number 1734-TBxx. When installing the module to the terminal base, required keyswitch position is position number 3. The module has an analog to digital circuitry using Sigma-Delta conversion type. The converted data is save to a 16 bit register in Signed Integer format with range of -32767 to +32768. This module has an absolute accuracy of +/- 20 uA @ 25¡C, repeatability of +/- 5 uA @ 25¡C with an accuracy drift of 50uA max -20..55¡C, 30ppm / ¡C typical. The HART interface of the module enable the module to act as a Remote I/O itself. HART is a device level communication protocol, typically used with Transmitters typically used for calibration, configuration and networking of instruments for integration to Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) or computer-based control systems such as Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Especially if an entire POINT I/O uses modules with HART protocol, simultaneous integration and communication may be achieved without affecting the moduleÕs operation. Another advantage of HART interface is the capability to be linked even in 3rd party products for transfer of data to information and data management systems. The 1734sc-IE2CH is factory calibrated with option for user calibration. The module is rated for maximum overload voltage of 28.8V DC.
