About 1734D-IB8XOW8

The 1734D-IB8XOW8 POINTBlock module is a product of Allen-Bradley that is primarily used for implementing Remote I/O or Distributed I/O architecture. This module has Eight (8)24VDc input channels used for interfacing signaling devices such as switches, sensors, pushbutton devices, auxiliary contacts and other devices. It also has Eight (8) Relay output channels in Form A contacts or Single Pole Single Throw switch. Relay output channels are compatible for use with AC and DC voltages and inductive loads or electrical loads that require high current to energize. Aside from the integrated I/O channels, the 1734D-IB8XOW8 also has an embedded DeviceNet interface which is the standard communication interface of POINTBlcok devices. With the embedded DeviceNet communication port that support communication speed of 125K, 250K or 500K bits/second, communication to DeviceNet scanners or controllers with DeviceNet communication port may be established. This allows the POINTBlock I/O such as the 1734D-IB8XOW8 to serves as remote I/O or Distributed I/O rack. The DeviceNet interface of any POINTBlock module is compliant to Open Devicenet Vendors Association (ODVA) standard which means that this communication port is reliable. DeviceNet address is set via the switches installed in the moduleÕs front panel. This allows the module to be recognized as a DeviceNet node over the network. The 1734D-IB8XOW8 is also installed with POINTBus expansion port that is similar to the POINT I/O bus. Up to Twelve (12) additional POINT I/O modules may be installed in this expansion port to allow a maximum addition of 64 I/O points. The 1734D-IB8XOW8 is provided with cage clamp terminals readily installed along the terminal base assembly. These terminal bases are composed of Five (5) sets of Removable Terminal Block (RTB) wherein RTB 0 is used for Power interface, RTB 1 and 2 used for Input signal wiring and RTB 4 and 5 used for Output signal wiring. Compatible wire size for use with the removable Terminal Blocks is 14 AWG (2.5mm2 ) - 22 AWG (0.25mm2 ) solid or stranded copper rated @ 75¡C or greater and maximum insulation thickness of 3/64 inch or 1.2mm.The RTBs may be removed or inserted even if signal wires are already wired to the terminals. The output channels are compatible for a variety of output voltage ranges such as 5-30V dc at 2.0A resistive load; 48V dc at 0.5A resistive load; 125V dc at 0.25A resistive load; 125V ac at 2.0A resistive load and 240V ac at 2.0A resistive load. When operated at rated power, the output channels provide an output channel depending on the operating voltage. Specifically, rated power varieties include 2A @ 5-30V dc; 0.5A @ 48Vdc; 0.25A @ 125V dc; 2A @ 125V ac and 2A @ 240V ac for resistive loads and 2.0A steady state @ 5-30V dc, L/R - 7ms; 0.5A steady state @ 48V dc, L/R = 7ms; 0.25A steady state @ 125V dc, L/R = 7ms; 2.0A steady state, 15A make @ 125V ac;PF = cos _ = 0.4 and 2.0A steady state, 15A make @ 240V ac, PF = cos _ = 0.4 for Inductive loads.
The Allen-Bradley 1734D-IB8XOW8 is a POINTBlock combination module. This module has Eight (8) 24VDC input channels and Eight (8) Relay output, Form A channels. It has an integrated DeviceNet communication interface and a wiring block that uses cage clamp connections.
