About 1734D-IB8XOB8ES

The 1734D-IB8XOB8ES is an Allen-Bradley product that belongs to the POINTBlock I/O system. This POINTBlock I/O is a combination module that features Eight (8) 24VDC input channels and Eight (8) 24VDC output channels. POINTBlock I/O are Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) or Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) components used to function similarly as a 1734 communication adapter, implementing Remote I/O or Distributed I/O architecture. Through the DeviceNet interface, the module may be connected to a DeviceNet network which allow the POINTBlock I/O to communicate with a DeviceNet network scanner or directly to a controller. The built-in DeviceNet interface supports transmission speed of 125K, 250K or 500K bits/second. The POINTBlock I/OÕs DeviceNet interface is set via the switches located at the moduleÕs front panel. The POINTBlock I/O is basically a POINT I/O module with a 1734-PDN attached, forming a single, undetachable unit. POINTBlock I/O has a compact form, effectively saving enclosure space making it an ideal I/O expansion option for application with very limited hardware expansion space. The POINTBlock I/O supports installation of additional Twelve (12) POINT I/O modules or a total of 64 I/O channels. The POINTBlock I/O is recognized as simply a DeviceNet node in the network via the MAC ID switches used for dialing in the starting address. It supports AutoBaud configuration for automatically capturing the baud rate and relevant settings of the DeviceNet network without manually configuring it. The POINTBlock I/O supports the LogixÕ I/O configuration types such as Change-of-State (COS), Cyclic and polled. COS input configuration is popular for fast acting inputs such as fast encoders or counters. This setting allows the input to be immediately processed once signal state change is detected. It bypasses the normal logic execution for faster input evaluation and logic execution. The Polled I/O setting regularly polls the input channel while the cyclic settings monitors and execute the logic based on the standard logic execution cycle. This POINTBlock I/O is designed with status indicators such as One (1) Module Status; One (1) Network Status; Sixteen (16) yellow I/O which consists of Eight (8) Discrete Input and Eight (8) Discrete Output status indicators. These status indicators provide local indication of the moduleÕs operation that may be used as reference to aid in troubleshooting of the device. The input channels receive input signals from field devices that operate in Two-position or binary state such as OFF and ON. The nominal input voltage is 24VDC and voltage range of 10-28.8VDC. The input channels supports sink wiring configuration which may be even used with 2-wire and 3-wire sensors and binary switches. The output channels are also rated at 24VDC nominal output with effective range of 10-28.8 VDC as well. Other electrical characteristics of this POINTBlock I/O are Power Dissipation of 2.0W maximum @ 24V dc and Power Consumption of 8.2W maximum @ 24V dc. The POINTBlock I/O field Power Bus voltage range is 10-28.8VDC with nominal supply voltage of 24VDC and maximum of 10A. It has a physical dimension of 3.00H x 2.36W x 5.25L or 76.2 Hx 60.0W x 133.4L.
The Allen-Bradley 1734D-IB8XOB8ES is a POINTBlock combination module. This module has Eight (8) 24VDC input channels and Eight (8) 24VDC output channels. It has an integrated DeviceNet communication interface and a wiring block that uses spring clamp connections.
