About 1734D-IB8XOB8E

The 1734D-IB8XOB8E is a POINTBlock I/O module. This product is manufactured by Allen-Bradley used in implementing a cost-effective and efficient remote I/O or distributed I/O architecture. It functions similarly like a standard 1734 communication adapter as this module supports installation of up to Twelve (12) additional POINT I/O modules. The 1734D-IB8XOB8E DeviceNet connection is established via the DeviceNet connector installed on the moduleÕs front panel. This allows the POINTBlock I/O to interface to an Existing DeviceNet network and exchange I/O data. It supports the standard communication speed of a DeviceNet network, specifically 125K, 250K or 500K bits/second. This POINTBlock I/O is designed with status indicators such as One (1) Module Status; One (1) Network Status; Sixteen (16) yellow I/O which consists of Eight (8) Discrete Input and Eight (8) Discrete Output status indicators. These status indicators provide local indication of the moduleÕs operation that may be used as reference to aid in troubleshooting of the device. The input channels of this module is designed to receive input signals from signaling devices with nominal input voltage of 24VDC and voltage range of 10.28.8VDC. These input channels support sink wiring configuration and compatible for use with 2-wire and 3-wire sensors and binary switching devices. The input channels may be further configured by adjusting the filter time parameters. The module has a fixed input filter setting of 0. 1734D-IB8XOB8E has a Power Dissipation of 2.0W maximum @ 24V dc and Power Consumption of 8.2W maximum @ 24V dc. The POINTBlock I/O field Power Bus voltage range is 10-28.8VDC with nominal supply voltage of 24VDC and maximum of 10A. It has a physical dimension of 3.00H x 2.36W x 5.25L or 76.2 Hx 60.0W x 133.4L. The Terminal Block of the 1734D-IB8XOB8E is composed of Five (5) Removable Terminal Blocks (RTB) with RTB 0 dedicated for incoming voltage supply; RTB 1 and RTB 2 for Discrete Inputs and RTB 3 and RTB 4 for Discrete output connections. Each RTB has Eight (8) cage clamp terminals which makes a total of 40-cage clamp terminals. When wiring signal lines to the module, appropriate wire for use is 14 AWG (2.5mm2 ) - 22 AWG (0.25mm2 ) solid or stranded copper wire with maximum insulation thickness of 3/64 inch (1.2mm) and Temperature rating of 75 Deg. Celsius or greater. Required terminal base torque for securing connection is 5-7 pound-inches or 0.5-0.6 Nm. Install the POINTBlock I/O inside an enclosure that offers protection against dust, dirt, water jet and splash. The enclosureÕs inside temperature must be within a temperature range of -20 to +55 Degree Celsius or -4 to +131 Degree Fahrenheit. The operating vibration and shock of the module is 5g at 10-500Hz per IEC 68-2-6 standard and 30g peak acceleration, 11(±1)ms pulse width. If intended as a spare part, the moduleÕs non-operating or storage temperature is -40 to 85 Degree Celsius or -40 to 185 Degree Fahrenheit.
The Allen-Bradley 1734D-IB8XOB8E is a POINTBlock combination module. This module has Eight (8) 24VDC input channels and Eight (8) 24VDC output channels. It has an integrated DeviceNet communication interface and a wiring block that uses cage clamp connections.
