About 1734D-IB16

The Allen-Bradley product with Catalog Number 1734D-IB16 is a POINTBlock module with Sixteen (16) DC input channels and DeviceNet interface. POINTBlock has typical functionality compared to a 1734 POINT I/O communication adapter except that the POINTBlock system supports only up to Twelve (12) expansion POINT I/O modules. This feauture makes the POINTBlock module a cost-effective alternative for expanding your Remote I/O or Distributed using. POINTBlock module such as 1734D-IB16 natively supports DeviceNet communication. The POINTBlock module can be made to connect to a DeviceNet network as One (1) DeviceNet node to actively send and receive data request from the DeviceNet scanner or DeviceNet enabled controller. The embedded DeviceNet interface has physical wiring block located at the moduleÕs front panel for ease and simplified wiring. This DeviceNet interface support transmission speed of 125K, 250K or 500K bits/second and conforms to the ODVA standard for safety and reliability. The 1734D-IB16 input channel operating Voltage is 24VDC nominal with an acceptable range of 10-28.8 VDC where 10.0VDC is the minimum ON state voltage and 28.8VDC as the maximum ON state Voltage. The minimum ON state current is 2.5mA min with maximum ON state current of 7.6 mA while the nominal On state current is 6.3mA at 24VDC. The channels has an input impedance of 4.7K ½ max (3.6K ½ nominal) and built-in input delay time of 0.5ms, Hardware fixed plus a user selectable 0-65ms input delay per channel. These input delay time are individually configured per each channel and per each transition such as OFF to ON and ON to OFF signal transition. Similar to DC input modules of, use this module to interface with binary signaling devices or electrical devices that operate in Two states, ON and OFF or 0 and 1. The POINTBlock moduleÕs POINTBus output current is 1A max @ 5V dc output power with DeviceNet current of 95mA maximum for POINTBlock 350mA for maximum with expansion of Twelve (12) POINT I/O modules or 64 additional I/O points. This module has an isolation voltage of 850V dc for 1s between user power and DeviceNet with rated Power Dissipation and consumption of 2.0W maximum @ 24V dc and 8.2W maximum @ 24V d respectively. The 1734D-IB16 channel data is stored to a 16-Bit register data map. Each bit represent the physical channels sequentially, wherein a Bit with value 0 pertain to a deactivated channel while a bit with value 1 indicates that the input channel is actively receiving a signal within the required voltage range. The POINTBlock 1734D-IB16 has built-in status indicators such as One (1) red/ green module status indicator; One (1) red/green network status indicator and Sixteen (16) yellow I/O status indicators. The modules dimension is 3.00H x 2.36W x 5.25L inches or 76.2 Hx 60.0W x 133.4L mm. Use solid or stranded copper wire when connecting field device signal wires to the moduleÕs terminal block. Approved wire size range is 14 AWG (2.5mm2 ) - 22 AWG (0.25mm2 ) with 75 Deg. Celsius or higher insulation rating and maximum insulation thickness of 3/64 inch (1.2mm).
The Allen-Bradley 1734D-IB16 is a POINTBlock DC Input module. This module has Sixteen (16) 10-28.8 VDC input channels. It has an integrated DeviceNet communication interface and a wiring block that uses cage clamp connections.

F.A.Q for 1734D-IB16
