About 1734D-IA16S

This 1734D-IA16S is POINTBlock AC input module with Sixteen (16) Discrete input channels and spring clamp terminals. This module has a DeviceNet connector used to establish communication with DeviceNet scanners. POINTBlock I/O product category is a cost-effective solution for implementing a POINT I/O type rack with lesser installation cost. POINTBlock I/O supports up to Twelve (12) POINT I/O modules for expansion. Technically, a POINTBlock I/O is composed of a 1734-PDN and a 16-channel input or output. The DeviceNet interface of the POINTBlock I/O enables connection to the DeviceNet scanner in the network. This permits the POINTBlock I/O to function similarly as a communication adapter, similar to the 1734-AND however, the POINTBlock I/O only supports up to Twelve (12) additional POINT I/O module or up to 64 I/O points which reduce time and overall costs when designing an equivalent system using other platform. The POINTBlock I/O is seen in the DeviceNet network as a DeviceNet node with MAC ID switches used for dialing in the starting address. Each channel of the 1734D-IA16S features an operating voltage range of 85-132VAC with a nominal input value of 120VAC with frequency of 60Hz. The individual input channelÕs minimum ON state voltage is 69VAC while the maximum ON state voltage is 132VAC. The moduleÕs maximum OFF-state voltage is 43VAC. The minimum ON state current is 5.0 mA while the OFF-state current of the input channels is 2.5mA. The filter times may be individually configured, according to the input signalÕs characteristic. The filter times for OFF to ON and ON to OFF transitions are similar however, can be configured individually. Set this filter time to condition the input signal, to eliminate the processing of false triggered signals and noises. It also supports Choice of change-of-state (COS) which allow for faster processing of signals based on the change of signal status. Change of state may be used in fast applications such as position control. It also supports polled configuration and cyclic operation. These updated channel configuration increases available network bandwidth in the backplane by scheduled sending of I/O messages. The POINTBlock I/O terminals consists of Sixteen (16) spring clamp terminals. Only use solid or stranded copper wire with size of 14 AWG (2.5mm2 ) - 22 AWG (0.25mm2 ) and insulation rating of 75 Deg. Celsius or Higher. Insulation thickness shall be maximum of 3/64 inch or 1.2 mm. The POINTBlock AC input module is provided with status indicators such as One (1) red/green module status indicator with RED indicating an abnormal state and Green pertaining to the module in normal operating state. The network status indicator also has One (1) red/green network status indicator with Red LED signaling an error in network communication and green as normal operation. The Sixteen (16) yellow I/O status indicators are individually used for each channel. Yellow LED refers to an activated channel.
The Allen-Bradley 1734D-IA16S is a POINTBlock AC Discrete Input module. This module has Sixteen (16) input channels, operating at 85-132VAC voltage range. It has an integrated DeviceNet communication interface and a wiring block that uses spring clamp connections.
