This 1734D-IA16 is a POINTBlock AC input module with Sixteen (16) Discrete input channels. The input channels of this module designed for input signal voltage range of 85-132VAC with a nominal input value of 120VAC with frequency of 60Hz. This POINTBlock I/O major parts include a DeviceNet connector, used for interfacing to DeviceNet network, DeviceNet node setting switches in 1s and 10s position to allow up to node 63; I/O status indicators for reporting of moduleÕs operational state and Remote Termination Blocks (RTB) for wiring of AC signal wires to interface the module to the field signaling devices. The moduleÕs connection type are 16 cage clamp terminals. Use solid or stranded Copper wires for signal wiring, with size range of 14 AWG (2.5mm2 ) - 22 AWG (0.25mm2 ) and insulation rating of 75 Deg. Celsius or Higher. Insulation thickness shall be maximum of 3/64 inch or 1.2 mm. The POINTBlock I/O input channels has minimum ON state voltage of 69VAC and maximum of 132VAC while the OFF-state voltage is 43VAC. The channelÕs minimum ON state current is 5.0 mA while the OFF-state current is 2.5mA. Each channel also has a user selectable input filter with options at 0-65 ms plus the fixed filter time of 20 ms. These filter times are applicable for both OFF to ON and ON to OFF transitions. Set this filter time to condition the input signal, to eliminate the processing of false triggered signals and noises. The POINTBlock I/O supports installation of additional Twelve (12) POINT I/O modules via the POINTBus expansion port. The POINTBlock AC input module is built with status indicators to provide local indication and report to the moduleÕs operational status. The moduleÕs indicators include One (1) red/green module status indicator; One (1) red/green network status indicator and Sixteen (16) yellow I/O status indicators. The 1734D-IA16 creates a Sixteen (16) bit register where each bit of the data map represents each of the physical input channel. This data map is also being accessed by the appropriate partner devices such as the DeviceNet scanner for network data transfer and enable the central CPU to view the state of the channels. To install the 1734D-IA16, on the DIN rail, Position the POINTBlock I/O vertically above the DIN rail. Apply firm pressure and press down firmly to install the module on the DIN rail. A clicking sound may be heard when installing the module. The provided End cap must not be discarded. It shall be installed to the exposed pins of the last module or block. The POINTBlock I/O is intended to be installed inside an enclosure that offers suitable protection against environmental conditions. Generally, the enclosure must prevent water splash or jet, dust, dirt, grease from entering the enclosure. Within the enclosure, temperature must be maintained within an operating temperature range of -20 to +55 deg. C or -4 to +131 deg. F. Fans or Heaters may be installed, to control the temperature with consideration to individual moduleÕs Thermal dissipation. The 1734D-IA16 has a Thermal dissipation of 2.0W maximum @ 24V dc.
