The 1734-TOP3S is a POINT I/O hardware. This catalog number refers to a single unit terminal base which has Twelve (12) connection terminals using spring clamp connection. This product is manufactured by Allen-Bradley which is an important component of a POINT I/O system. The main components of the 1734-TOP3S includes One (1) DIN Rail Locking screw, used to tighten and loch the module into the installation DIN rail; Handle for holding the POINT I/O module and limit vibration and shock; Wiring block where filed connections are established; Interlocking side pieces which locks the adjacent module into place and a mechanical key which is a rotary switch used to comply to the specific keyswitch position of a module. The spring type connection of the 1734-TOP3S contributes to faster termination of field devices. Signal wires may be terminated to the wiring block without a ferrule or terminal lugs. The wires are simply stripped based on the recommended stripping length of 14±1 mm or 0.55±0.03 in for 1 wire and 16±1 mm for 0.63±0.03 in 2 wire connections. Mechanical characteristics of the terminal base include an operating vibration not exceeding 5 g @ 10É500 Hz as specified by the IEC60068-2-6 standard and operating shock of 30 g with reference to EC 60068-2-27 standard. Install vibration and shock limiting devices to control the effects of vibration.
