About 1734-TBS
The 1734-TBS is a product of Allen-Bradley that is used to provide POINT I/O installation location and field signal wiring interface. This product belongs to the 1734-POINT I/O product family. The 1734-TBS consists of One (1) mounting base and One (1) removable terminal block. These parts are not inclusive when a POINT I/O module is purchase thus, must be selected and purchased separately. The Removable Terminal Block (RTB) component of the 1734-TBS has a catalog number of 1734-RTB which is an Eight (8) cage clamp modular terminal. This RTB allows filed signal wires to be connected through each of its terminal. This RTB may be used with POINT I/O Digital Input modules to connec to the module to field signaling devices; Used with Discrete Output devices to send commands from the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) or Programmable Automation Controller (PA) to field output devices or Final Control Elements (FCE); Analog Input modules to integrate measuring instruments such as transmitters; Analog Output modules to send analog signals for the purpose of implementing modulating control or retransmitting signals. It may also be used with specialty modules that perform very specific automation functions. The 1734-TBS is designed for use with a large variety of POINT I/O modules such as Discrete AC input modules having catalog number 1734-IA2, 1734-IA4, 1734-IM2, 1734-IM4; Discrete DC Input modules including 1734-IB2, 1734-IB4,1734-IB4D, 1734-IB8, 1734-IV2, 1734-IV4, and 1734-IV8; Discrete AC output modules such as 1734-OA2 1734-OA4; Discrete DC output modules such as 1734- OB2, 1734- OB2E, 1734- OB2EP, 1734- OB4, 1734- OB4E, 1734- OB8, 1734- OB8E, 1734- OV2E, 1734- OV4E, and 1734- OV8E; Discrete Contact Modules with catalog number 1734-OW2, 1734-OW4, and 1734-OX2. The mounting base also connects the module to the POINTBus where POINTBus current is drawn to energize the installed moduleÕs circuitry. The mounting base is also responsible for the continuity of the backplane as it is provided with interlocking side pieces with pins that directly connect to the adjacent module, providing side attachment and conduction of power along the POINT I/O assembly. The pins of the last module in the POINT I/O rack must be covered to avoid entry of foreign materials especially conductive ones as these materials have the tendency to short the pins. The mounting base of the 1734-TBS supports horizontal and vertical mounting to a DIN rail as it is designed with the DIN rail mounting mechanism.
