The 1734-TB3S is a POINT I/O component that belongs to the 1734-POINT I/O product family. The 1734-TB3SÕ Removable Terminal Block has Twelve (12) spring clamp terminals which allow signal wires to be installed faster and efficiently compared to Screw type terminal blocks. Spring clamp terminal blocks does not require ferrules or lugs when terminating wires. The wires are stripped and directly inserted to the insertion point where a spring is installed to hold the wire into place. The 1734-TB3S required stripping length are 14±1 mm or 0.55±0.03 in for 1 wire and 16±1 mm for 0.63±0.03 in 2 wire connections with torque requirement of 0.6 Nm or 7 lb-in. The terminals may be wired with solid or stranded copper wire with size range of 0.25-2.5 mm_ or 22 or 14 AWG. When installing the Removable Terminal Block, the end, opposite of the handle must be installed first to the base unit. The RTB end is identified with a curved section that engages with the wiring base. The RTB must be rotated, into the wiring base until the RTB automatically lock into place. Even if an I/O module is installed, it is not necessary to uninstall it. Simply, snap the Removable Terminal Block into place. The 1734-TB3SÕ Removable Terminal Block provides modular connection to POINT I/O modules. Once signal wires are properly connected to the RTB, rewiring or removal of wire is not necessary if the module or mounting base is being replaced. The RTB may be detached from the old mounting base and reattached to the replacement module directly. This feature provided by the RTB contributes to faster commissioning and troubleshooting. The 1734-TB3SÕmounting base provides POINT I/O module installation point. The mounting base is not limited to this function as it also have the interlocking pins to allow connection side by side installation of other POINT I/O terminal base assembly. This interlocking pins also forms the POINTBus backplane, which distributes POINTBus current that energize POINT I/O moduleÕs circuitry. The same backplane connection serves as the local communication highway where data exchange between POINT I/O adapter and modules are executed. The mounting base also has the DIN rail mount to allow installation to a DIN rail. To install the mounting base, the hardware must be positioned vertically above other POINT I/O installed units such as communication adapter, power supply or other existing modules. Slide the mounting base down to allow the interlocking side pieces to engage the adjacent module or 1734 communication adapter. Apply a firm and gentle pressure to lock the mounting base on the DIN rail. The mounting base connection is confirmed when a snap or click sound is heard.
