The 1734-TB is a POINT I/O hardware. This component is a Terminal base assembly that is composed of a Mounting base and a Removable Terminal Block (RTB). This hardware is an important component of POINT I/O assembly as the mounting base unit provides installation means for a POINT I/O module while the Removable Terminal Block (RTB) provides the necessary interface to field devices, whether input device, output device or supply device. The 1734-TB uses a Removable Terminal Block with catalog number 1734-RTB. The 1734-RTB may be purchased separately. It has Eight (8) cage clamp terminals where signal wires are terminated. With the use of Cage Clamp technology, the 1734-TB via its Removable Terminal Block provides a convenient, fast and efficient way of wiring signals as it only requires a simple push-insert-pull action to complete a single wire connection. The RTB, provides a modular connection as it can be detached to the mounting base without the need of removing the installed wires. The mounting base on the other hand, provide installation interface to the POINT I/O module, connection to the POINT I/O backplane, also known as POINTBus and enable the entire assembly to attach to the DIN rail for mounting. The terminal base also has the locking mechanism that holds the POINT I/O module into place.
