About 1734-RTB3

The 1734-RTB3 is an Allen-Bradley manufactured Removable Terminal Block (RTB). This RTB belongs to the POINT I/O product family that is primarily used to establish a modular connection to the mounting base and to the installed module via the Twelve (12) cage clamp terminals. The 1734-RTB3 is part of the wiring base assembly which usually composed of the DIN rail locking screw, Mounting base, interlocking side pieces and mechanical keying. Removable Terminal Block (RTB) provide the physical interface between signaling devices, if used with input modules, and provide connection to Final Control Element (FCE) or output devices. The cage clamp connection provided by the 1734-RTB3 automatically holds the wire with a Torque of 0.6 Nm (7 lb-in). Use flat head screw-driver to terminate wire in place. Use stranded or solid copper wire with size range of 0.25... 2.5 mm2 or 22...14 AWG. Strip the wires with a length of 14±1 mm (0.55±0.03 in) for single wire and 16±1 mm (0.63±0.03 in) for Two wire. Removable Terminal Blocks (RTB) are included with the wiring base assembly. To remove the RTB from the mounting base, pull up the RTB handle. This action allows the entire RTB to be removed, including the wires, if already terminated. This enables the user to replace the mounting base without doing any modification or rewiring. The modular feature of the RTB preserves the wiring which contributes to faster maintenance and troubleshooting. Whenever the RTB is going to be installed or reinserted, standard steps may be followed. First, by inserting the end opposite of the handle, the end section engages to the wiring base. Second, rotate the Removable Terminal Block into the wiring base to allow the RTB to automatically lock into place. If a POINT I/O module is already existing, snap the RTB handle into place on the module. When installing the module, use a soft and dry cloth with anti-static capability to wipe the equipment. Do not use any cleaning agents. The 1734-RTB3 is rated for maximum signal terminal voltage of 300V and maximum signal terminal current of 2A. It has an open type enclosure which means the module, along the wiring assembly, POINT I/O modules and POINT I/O system must be installed in an enclosure that adequately provides the correct protection based on the identified installation location class. At a minimum, the 1734-RTB3 must be protected from water splash or water jets as it may short the wiring terminals. Additionally, protection from dust, grease, heat, vibration must be offered by the enclosure where the 1734-RTB3 is installed. The 1734-RTB3 must be operated at a temperature ranging from -20 to 55 ¡C or -4É131 ¡F. This contributes to the moduleÕs operating lifespan. To maintain the required temperature, cooling or heating devices may be installed with the consideration to each POINT I/O module and other electrical componentÕs Thermal dissipation. Each Vibration and shock must be limited within the specified ratings of 5 g @ 10É500 Hz and 30 g respectively. Install vibration and shock limiting devices along the DIN rail to limit the effects of these mechanical disturbances.
The Allen-Bradley 1734-RTB3 is a POINT I/O Removable Terminal Block (RTB) with Twelve (12) cage clamp terminals. This terminal block is a replacement unit for the 1734-TB3.
