About 1734-OV8E

The 1734-OV8E is a POINT I/O module that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This module is a High-Density Discrete Output module with embedded Eight (8) channels. This module is compatible for sink wiring configuration with channels that are internally protected. The 1734-OV8E belongs to the POINT I/O product category, used to implement Remote or Distributed I/O architecture. This module requires a mounting base, removable terminal block and communication adapter to function. The mounting base connects the module to the POINT I/O backplane while the removable terminal block provides field wiring interface to connect the module to the output devices while the communication adapter establishes connection between the controller and the POINT I/O module. Compatible terminal base for this module are 1734-TB or 1734-TBS wiring base assembly. When wiring field signal wires, use signal wires with size range of 0.25... 2.5 mm2 (22...14 AWG) solid or stranded copper wire rated @ 75 ¡C (167 ¡F) or greater 1.2 mm (3/64 in.) insulation. The 1734-OV8EÕs minimum ON state voltage is 10.0VDC while the maximum ON state voltage is 28.8VDC. The moduleÕs output current rating is 1.0 A per output, not to exceed 3.0 A max per module. This module is ideally used to drive output devices that does not require high amount of current. It may be used to energize solenoid and motorized actuators, pilot lamps, relay coils, annunciator panels and other output devices. The 1734-OV8E has an internal surge protection that can withstand 2 A for 10 ms that is repeatable for every 3s. The output channels of the module exhibit signal delay of 0.1 ms for both ON to OFF and OFF to ON transitions. The POINTBus current requirement of the module is 75 mA at 5VDC. The 1734-OV8E, including all POINT I/O modules must be installed inside an enclosure that offers protection to environmental and mechanical disturbances. For environmental factors, the module must be operated within a temperature range of -20É+55 ¡C (-4É+131 ¡F) and surrounding air temperature of 55 ¡C (131 ¡F). If the module is intended as a spare unit, required storage temperature must be within -40É85 ¡C (-40É+185 ¡F). Operating and storing the module within the recommended temperature ranges will help maximize the moduleÕs operational lifespan. To be able to meet the required specifications, appropriate temperature control devices may be installed such as heater or cooler. Thermal dissipation of each module must be considered for proper sizing of such devices. Similarly, mechanical requirements of the module include operation vibration of 5 g @ 10...500 Hz based on IEC 60068-2-6 and operating shock of 30 g based on IEC 60068-2-27 standard. Shock and vibration limiting devices may be installed to limit the effect of such disturbances.
