About 1734-OV4E

The 1734-OV4E is an Allen-Bradley Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) component. This electronic hardware is a discrete output module, used to implement logic commands whether manually or automatically. This dicerete output module belongs to the 1734 POINT I/O product family of scalable, compact and cost-effective distributed or remote I/O solution. The 1734-OV4E is Four (4) channel, discrete output channel with protected output channels. These output channels are compatible for sink wiring configuration or negative logic wiring. With sink wiring, the negative wire is connected to the moduleÕs individual channel while the positive wire is connected to the moduleÕs common terminal. The 1734-OV4E may be used to energized electrical loads that operate in Two (2) positions such as ON/OFF or 0 and 1. Example of these devices are Solenoid or motorized actuated valves, cylinders, dampers, and louvers. It may also be used with indicating and sounding devices such as Pilot Lamps annunciator panels, siren, horn, buzzer and other similar devices. The 1734-OV4E is an 8-bit output module where only half of the bits are being used particularly Bits 0, 1,2 and 3 are assigned for channels 0, 1, 2 and 3. This register is called Channel state data map. It also creates a channel status register to indicate the individual channelÕs state. The channel status registers are similarly mapped like the Channel state register with Bits 0, 1,2 and 3 are assigned for channels 0, 1, 2 and 3. The intention of the channel status register is to provide channel alarm feedback where an activated bit (1) pertains to an error while a deactivated bit (0) pertains to no error state. Up to 63 1734-OV4E may be installed in a single POINT I/O rack provided with the appropriate system expansion power supplies such as 1734-EP24DC or 1734-EPAC installed. It is compatible for use with 1734 communication adapters such as ProfiBus, Ethernet, DeviceNet and ControlNet. The 1734-OV4E output channels are supplied with an external voltage supply of 24VDC with range of 10-28.8VDC with a current of 8 mA. Individual channelÕs minimum ON state voltage of is 10VDC while maximum ON state voltage is 28.8VDC at 1.0 mA minimum current.
